Let's Play Catch-up

I finally got around to a design I'm happy with. To pretend that I'm an angst-ridden, self-hating arteest is just irritating so I won't pretend to play that role. But I do get a real sense of restlessness with my designs, especially my personal work. Somehow the work I do at work can easily slip from the grips of my ego once it's been approved by the client. If they happen to fixate upon or demand particular design elements that I don't agree with, I can chalk it up to clients being clients. Work is work. But my personal projects are just that - personal. This design represents what my earlier design should have been. Alas, there are only so many hours in a day and my Photoshop mockups never quite evolved beyound a frustrated rough draft of what I'd hoped would be something very cool.
So what else is up?
Scotland Cancelled, Key West Planned
Earlier this year, we'd planned to attend the wedding of a family friend of meh lady's in Scotland, however flying overseas with near-$3 a gallon gas proved ludicrous. Tickets are running roughly $1200 per person. (Do I get a free Volkswagen with every purchase?)
After bantering about the idea of flying somewhere warm with powdered sugar sand between our toes, gigantic triple-umbrella'd drinks in-hand and finally getting Scuba-certified, we decided on Key West. We'll fly to Boca Raton two weeks from today to house-sit for our afore-mentioned friend and drive to Key West via convertible to spend roughly four days looking at coral and the endangered North American spotted boobee fish or some such nonsense. Should be a good time.

I know people in Boca too- go figure- of course it's probably the same people that Christine know..now that I think about it I know people with white patent leather shoes...ok they're white pumps and christine has LOTS of them... if you feel like you need to blend, i'm sure she would be happy to let you borrow some.. Thanks for the kudos, man. Much appreciated. This is honestly the first design that I've ever been happy with for my own blog, so I think I might hold onto it for a couple months (rather than the usual two weeks).
