The True Guide to Lying

I'm Back (and Not So Tan)

July 6 / 9AM

Back from almost two weeks of vacation. Twelve days to be exact. Twelve days of no computer, no e-mail, and (mostly) no cell phone. Our biggest decisions were: "Which beach today?" and "Where's the closest bar?" God, how liberating.

Karrie and I have always been cold-weather folk. Canada, Maine, Colorado, et. al. Something about the cold, the snow and the bleakness of New England is just romantic to me - weird, I know. That's why it was a bit odd that both us would think Florida in the middle of summer was a great idea. Given the option of staying for free in Boca Raton for a few days on a house-sitting venture was an opportunity we couldn't pass up though.

I'm still readjusting to non-vacation life. It's the longest time either of us has been away from work in ... well, since I can't remember when. Sitting down in front of my PC yesterday was a little like getting on a bike after five years of not riding one - you're still familiar with it on some level, but it still feels a little alien.

Anyhow, I've got about half of our FL pictures uploaded, with the rest coming tonight.

Update: I've got the rest of our FL pics uploaded to Flickr. Again, the link.

What Now?

Nice -- a convertible mustang! Tell me you were blasting "Ice Ice Baby" in your 5.0 whilst rolling down a1a!

You have no idea how many times I said that to Karrie. It's still just too damned funny!
